Odenis info
Odenis are a closed species created and sold by Amayensis.
"Closed species" means that no one else than the species' creator is allowed to produce and sell characters of this species.
(November 2024) The Odenis adoptables are now officially launched!
(September 2024) This species is fairly new, so be aware that its information, traits, rules etc. may vary as time passes.
Odenis overview
Odenis are a fictional species of feral dragons with western and eastern inspirations. They are sentient and usually small to medium sized on average (roughly somewhere between a horse and an elephant).
Species standards
The features that define an Odenis are detailed in the visual guide below ("Artist's handbook"). Some noteworthy features include the following:
Morphology: western dragon silhouette with 4 legs and 2 wings. The anatomy mixes mammalian, bird and reptilian inspirations. Deep chest, with shorter forelimbs and stronger canid-like hind limbs.
Coverage: the body coverage includes scales, fur and feathers that are distributed on specific areas of the body, as shown on the visual guide. In particular, the bird-like wings are not covered with feathers, but with fur.
Socle and jewel: the center of the forehead is adorned with a large, flat scale called “socle” and a small, smooth jewel embedded in the socle. The size, shape and colors of both the socle and jewel make a large part of each Odenis’ identity. The jewel may glow when magic is used.
Wing membranes: each wing elbow is connected to the body via a membrane (not unlike bat wing membranes), covered in thin fur. The membrane sits on top of the feathers and tenses up during flight, closing the gap between the feathers and the wing-arm. The gap becomes visible when the membrane relaxes.
While all Odenis share these characteristics, they all look different from one another thanks to their individual traits. The number and rarity of these traits may influence a design's value.
The Artist's Handbook below is a "species reference sheet" that you are allowed to save, post and share along with your Odenis character references (for example, on ToyHouse) or whenever you commission an artist for Odenis art. You are NOT allowed to edit this sheet or alter it in any way; only share it as-is with proper credit to Amayensis.
Creation and adoption
If you wish to adopt an Odenis, make sure you agree with all the terms listed in the closed species terms of use further below.
There are three ways to acquire an official Odenis character:
"Original": Buy an original design that was premade by Amayensis. Designs up for adoption will first be available for purchase on my Patreon, and then on my Ko-Fi shop!
"Custom": Commission Amayensis for a custom Odenis design based on the traits and colors of your choice.
"Model": Draw an Odenis concept yourself or have another artist draw a concept, then commission Amayensis to turn this model into an official Odenis. The model has to meet specific criteria to be acceptable.
To create an Odenis (Custom or Model types), you will need to choose its traits among the available ones in the Trait guidelines.
Custom design
For custom designs, you may decide which traits/colors you want for your Odenis, or you may simply give me a few directions and artistic liberty!
You may also ask for a Custom design inspired by an existing character of another species.
To easily choose and communicate the traits you want for your design, I recommend downloading the Customizable trait file and circling your desired traits (instead of manually typing the names of the traits and variants in your commission order). You may also redline edits on the trait file to specify any additional customizations.
Once you have circled or listed your desired traits, and decided the colors of your design, wait for Amayensis to open her commissions then send a "Custom Odenis" commission order form (don't forget to put a link to the Trait file if you completed it).
If you own a proto-Odenis design (there exist 5 of them), you may claim a 30€ discount if you decide to turn them into an official Custom Odenis design!
Model design
A model design is a concept art of the Odenis you want to adopt, and is made by anyone who isn't the species' creator (Amayensis). To be acceptable, a model design must meet the following criteria:
it is visually clear (the color patterns must be clean and easy to read);
all desired traits must be present;
it includes all the following elements:
side view of the body (with inner and outer sides of the limbs visible if relevant),
dorsal/upper side of the wing,
ventral/under side of the wing,
socle and jewel close-up,
eye close-up (can be simplified)
(optional: mouth close-up)
If the design has an alt form, you must add it to the model for all the elements above. Note that commissioning an alt card is required for an Odenis to have an alt form.
You are welcome to add text on the concept to clarify some details or traits.

These terms cover what you are allowed or not allowed to do with the Odenis design(s) you own.
Last update: November 2024
Ownership
All Odenis and commissions related to them (including new design cards and design card edits) are subjected to my Terms of Service and habitual commission status. Commissioning me and/or adopting an Odenis implies that you agree with both my ToS and the present terms of use of the species.
Odenis cannot be used for commercial purposes. You are not allowed to make profit off Odenis designs (such as using them for a brand, prints etc). You are also not allowed to make profit by reselling an Odenis design for a higher price than what you bought it for.
You may make art or have others make art of your Odenis, create a reference sheet for them, give them a backstory, a personality, an aspect, powers, etc.
When purchasing or commissioning an Odenis design from Amayensis, the client will receive the HD file of the design card. You must keep this HD file private. For public sharing, only use the watermarked version.
Design authenticity
Every authentic Odenis design has its design card recorded in the masterlist. Any Odenis design or concept that is not in the masterlist is not legitimate.
It is your responsibility to check whether a design is legitimate or not before buying or trading.
Obtainment
Only Amayensis, the closed species' creator, may produce, give and sell new Odenis designs.
Other artists are allowed to make concepts for Odenis designs in the context of "Model" design creations, but these concepts cannot be considered official until their card has been made and added to the masterlist by Amayensis.
While commissioning an Odenis design, the client is allowed to suggest traits or trait variants that are not currently offered in the trait guidelines. However the species creator (Amayensis) reserves the right to refuse any trait, trait variant, or trait customization if they aren't considered fit for the species. Note that what is considered acceptable or not may also change with time (what used to be accepted/forbidden may not always stay that way).
Reselling and trading
You are allowed to resell an Odenis design for a price lower or equal to the current value of the design, as recorded on the masterlist. If the current value is higher than what you bought the design for, you cannot sell it for a higher price than what you bought it for.
You may sell your Odenis for more than its current value only if commissioned artworks are attached to it. Price appropriately.
You may trade Odenis characters if you wish. Regardless of what it has been traded for (except money), a trade sets a design's current value to zero.
Please notify Amayensis whenever you have sold or traded an Odenis to keep the masterlist up to date, by providing the ID and name of the design, the name of the new owner, and the reselling price if applicable.
Character customizations
The look of an Odenis character is not restricted to its official design card! Here is a list of what you are allowed to do to further customize your Odenis character after it has been officialized, without asking for Amayensis' permission:
✅ You may add jewelry, clothing, armor, accessories. Styling the fur is allowed as long as the traits are still recognizable.
✅ You may add scars, injuries (broken horn...), any visual marks resulting from the character's story or development.
Note that personal additions to the design (accessories, scars) will not be reflected on the design card, but you can add them to your own reference sheet of your Odenis character if you make one.
✅ You may interpret and design your Odenis character into other species (humanoid, anthro, other feral species...) to fit different worlds and settings.
✅ You may make minor color changes on your Odenis (and/or its alt form) as long as the other traits remain the same.
Minor color changes refer to: changing the accent colors of the body, colors of the eye and jewel, horns, claws, teeth, paw pads or mucous membranes.
Minor color edits don't necessarily imply a change on the official design card. For such minor changes, commissioning a design card edit is optional.
Please send a link of the changes to Amayensis so they can be referenced in the masterlist.
The following changes must be discussed with Amayensis before applying them:
⚠️ You must ask for Amayensis' input before changing, relocating, adding or removing traits, aside from minor color changes as specified above. This may require modifying the official card with a design card edit commission.
The price of the edit depends on the amount of work required to edit the card but also on the rarity of the new design (if it is different).
If the rarity of the design is increased, the price of the design card edit includes the difference of value between the two rarities. For example, if a Rare 1 custom design becomes a Rare 2, the design card edit will cost at least the difference between Rare 1 and Rare 2 Custom Odenis design commissions.
More specifically, to unlock an alt form for a design that initially didn't have one, you need to commission both a design card edit (to add the "alt form" trait to the optional trait count and change the rarity of the design if necessary) AND an alternative card from Amayensis.
If the design already has the "alt form" trait, you only need to commission an alt card.
If the design card edit commission doesn't require changing the rarity of the design and doesn't make any edits to the design other than unlocking the alt form (and adding it to the optional trait count), the design card edit is free.
If the rarity of a design changes, its "current value" in the masterlist may change as well.
